Mike is among the people who’ve made the most of what the Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) has to offer.

According to Mike, “The most valuable aspect of SLP is the opportunity given to work in functions or areas that may not even be on your radar coming out of college. There are so many diverse rotational assignments available that make the program exciting and challenging.”

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering and robotics and thought he’d spend his career working on improving manufacturing capabilities and automation.

But SLP changed that.

“Coming out of college, I didn’t know being part of Global Supply Management would be the direction I would take, but now years later I’m so proud to be part of this team,” says Mike. “Without SLP, I would never have known how much I would enjoy it and the doors that would be opened because of it.”

During his SLP rotational assignments, Mike worked in multiple locations in the United States, as a lean engineer and manufacturing engineer before experiencing the Global Supply Management team in New Britain, Connecticut.

Mike’s advice to future SLP participants?

“You don’t have to have everything figured out just yet,” he said. “This program allows you to continue to grow and develop and figure out what may not be for you. Take the chance when given and if you do fail, make sure you fail trying to do something better than it was before.”

Without the Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program, I would never have known how much I would enjoy Global Supply Management and the doors that would be opened because of it.
