Maker Month

Maker Month

Join us this October!

Join us as we empower makers and the world! We have a goal to help 10 million makers and creators by the year 2030, through upskilling, providing access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) education, vocational and skills training and Makerspace training.

Our celebration of makers and innovators this October demonstrates our commitment to empowering the creators everywhere who are shaping the world around us.

Maker Month invites the next generation of makers and builders to participate in activities that will spark their curiosity, and we’re asking educators and our employees to get in on the action.

There are many ways to participate in our Maker Month movement, and we encourage all creators and doers to get involved.

  • #MyMakerMomentSweepstakes Campaign: Join our weekly sweepstakes on Facebook and participate in maker challenges for a chance to win Stanley Black & Decker products. Visit our Facebook page all month long!
  • Global Maker Day: Connect virtually and watch makers introduce different projects, learning spaces, creations, coding, 3D designs, art lessons, and more. There will be one new session each half hour and they each will have an affiliated challenge.
  • Classroom Contest: Through our Innovation Generation program (in partnership with Discovery Education), we’re proud to announce a new challenge. Schools around the country can enter to win. The prize? A Makerspace for your school.
  • Virtual Field Trip: As part of Innovation Generation, we’re introducing a virtual field trip. Register today to see and experience first-hand how math, science, technology, creativity and teamwork can lead to technological advancements in our everyday lives.

Maker Month

Innovation Generation

Earlier this year we announced a partnership with Discovery Education to bring the maker movement to the classroom. Together with Discovery Education, we’re working on developing a new Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) curriculum that will transform student learning by inviting students and educators nationwide to explore numerous disciplines through building, making and doing. We’re calling this project, Innovation Generation.

Maker Month is how we’re working to empower creators and makers to thrive in a changing world. Be part of the change!
