Helping Veterans: It’s about giving back to those who give us so much.
Being in the armed services isn’t a typical 9-5 job. It’s 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It often requires moving to the other side of the world, leaving behind friends and family in service of our country.
Founded in 2008, Workshops for Warriors (WFW) provides training and credentialing for veterans and transitioning service members as they reenter civilian life. WFW helps these people step into meaningful careers, which additionally addresses the Trade Skills Gap and shapes the future of American manufacturing.
The organization offers training programs in both CNC machining and welding where service members can earn stackable, nationally recognized credentials. They also provide professional and personal development planning, along with opportunities to interview one-on-one with corporate sponsors as part of the school’s Employer Career Fairs.
Workshops for Warriors is a recipient of our Grow the Trades Grant — an initiative to fund nonprofits’ vocational skills training and reskilling programs. We’re happy to support WFW as they make a tangible impact on veterans’ and service members’ lives.
