Meet Lisa and Jordan D., mother and son and 3rd and 4th generation LENOX employees.
What’s your family’s history working at LENOX?
Lisa: My mother actually met my father working here 55 years ago. My grandfather worked here for over 30 years and my dad for 40 years, so I am 3rd generation and Jordan is 4th generation. I am proud to say my son works for LENOX just as my father was proud to say his daughter worked here and his father before that.
What are your personal stories at LENOX? What’s your favorite part of your job?
Lisa: I’m an Operations Manager for LENOX at our East Longmeadow, MA facility. I started working at LENOX (then American Saw) in 1986. After graduating high school, I started a full-time position as a shipping clerk. Ten years later, I was promoted to Shipping Supervisor and then to Distribution Manager. About four years ago, I moved to the Paint/Print/Packing area in manufacturing.
Over the years, I’ve received a lot of support from my managers and have been given many opportunities to advance in my career. I like that every day is a new set of challenges to overcome, and I love the people I work with. I have a great group of employees that work for me.
Jordan: After high school, I started working here as a summer temp in the hole saw department. Then, I accepted a full-time position as a Peen Operator. I knew it was a great company and there were a lot of opportunities for me here.
How do you celebrate Mother’s Day?
Lisa: Every Mother’s Day, I go out with my mom, sister and our kids for a nice dinner. One of my favorite memories from Mother’s Day is when my daughter learned to cook my favorite dish and did it all on her own. Nothing’s better than someone else preparing a home-cooked meal for you, and you don’t have to lift a finger.
Jordan, what’s something about your mom that makes you proud?
My mom is an example of how someone can grow in their career here. I am proud that my mom is a woman in leadership in manufacturing and that people look up to her.
