Always good at finding simple solutions to complex problems, engineering seemed a natural fit for Carla, and that’s how she started her career after earning an electrical engineering degree.
And it was work she enjoyed. But she also has a passion for people, so she became involved in employee resource groups. It was this work, in the end, that convinced Carla she could have a different and equally impactful career advocating for employees.
"While engineering always presented me a complex issue to solve, there wasn’t as much fulfillment for me personally, and Human Resources seemed like a better fit," she said. "As an HR generalist I touch just about every aspect of the function – recruiting, compensation and benefits, employee engagement and organizational design. The role is a perfect fit for my personality."
She currently works with the Elu organization, our exponential learning group and our Data & analytics team.
"In HR, I now have the ability to leverage technology, think innovatively and evolve with the world around me while maintaining the personal element with the employees I support," she said.
