Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is one of the premier organizations in NASCAR, with four NASCAR Cup Series teams, three NASCAR Xfinity Series teams and a driver development program.

Based in Huntersville, North Carolina and owned by Joe Gibbs – a three-time Super Bowl winner as head coach of the Washington Redskins and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame – JGR has competed in NASCAR since 1992, winning five Cup Series championships and six Xfinity Series championships, along with more than 300 NASCAR races including four Brickyard 400s and four Daytona 500s. Its 2024 driver lineup consists of Denny Hamlin, Ty Gibbs, Christopher Bell and Martin Truex Jr. in the NASCAR Cup Series. Meanwhile, Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith will each run full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with John Hunter Nemechek, Aric Almirola, Ryan Truex, Taylor Gray, William Sawalich, Joe Graf Jr. and others also taking their turn on the track.

Gibbs was applying character-based leadership long before he started in NASCAR. After 17 years as an assistant coach to several colleges and NFL teams, Gibbs was hired as the head coach of the Washington Redskins in 1981, and his determination and perseverance were immediately on display after the team lost its first five games. The Redskins rebounded to finish that season 8-8, and the following season, he led the Redskins to their first Super Bowl championship in franchise history. Over the decade that followed, he would lead the Redskins to three more Super Bowls, including victories in Super Bowl XXII following the 1987 season and Super Bowl XXVI after the 1991 season.
