What made Stanley Black & Decker the right fit for you to build an engineering career?
Kayla A., Manager, DTV & Productivity, Outdoor: “I was looking for a company that would allow me to grow and cultivate my potential. During my interview, I expressed my career aspirations, and the hiring manager immediately wanted to brainstorm with me on ways I could achieve them. That’s when I knew I belonged here.”
Pablo B., Senior Project Engineer, Embedded Software: “I’ve always enjoyed working with batteries, so coming here was a natural next step. As part of our new product development team, I focus on developing safe, high-performing battery management systems. It’s always exciting and challenging work.”
Robinson L., Chief Engineer (Metalworking Products): “This is the first and only company I have worked for since graduating. At each stage of my career here, I’ve experienced clear career-path guidance, strong leadership support and opportunities to expand my skills.”
How do you continue to push boundaries in your work?
Kayla A.: “In engineering, you’re going to come up against constraints, but that’s not the end of an idea here. You reframe your brain, broaden your perspective and take smart risks. That’s how we continuously innovate to find new solutions for our end-users.”
Pablo B.: “Working here gives me the freedom to experiment and innovate. There’s no set path in new product development, so we may face challenges. But that pushes us to find better, more creative solutions as we create the next generation of connected batteries.”
Robinson L.: “We treat failure as an opportunity to learn valuable lessons. As a Chief Engineer, I've seen how this mindset leads to our thoughtfully designed tools and also improved processes.”
What’s the value of Stanley Black & Decker creating a workplace where people from all around the world come together to collaborate?
Kayla A.: “I have the opportunity to work with people around the world daily. This collaboration helps me do my job more effectively. Regardless of the time differences, we're all coming together to achieve the same goal, doing what’s best for our end-users. A win for one is a win for everyone.”
