Joe Simms is Chief Diversity Officer for Stanley Black & Decker. In this role, which reports to our CEO, Joe is championing a broad approach to diversity, equity and inclusion – working collaboratively across our organization to align DE&I objectives with business outcomes, enhance transparency, strengthen accountability and drive cultural change that enhances the employee experience.

Joining the company in 2013, Joe first served as VP of HR for U.S. Sales & Marketing in Global Tools & Storage (GTS) and more recently led the GTS HR organization as Vice President. In that role he had global HR responsibility for our commercial regions, business units and functions, in addition to centralized HR activities, including diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition and employee development.

Before joining the company, Joe worked in a variety of human resources leadership roles at PepsiCo, including as Senior Director, Human Resources for Pepsi Beverage Company’s Mid-Atlantic Region.

Joe earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Morgan State University and a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
