The Byron, Michigan native has accomplished many milestones in his short career. During his debut season in the Cup Series in 2017, Jones earned Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors becoming the first driver to win the honor in all three of NASCAR top series (MENCS – 2017, NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) – 2016, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) – 2015). Jones also made his mark in the history books when he won the 2015 NCWTS Championship becoming the youngest champion in the series at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 21 days.

Erik Jones

In just a short amount of time Erik Jones has amassed a list of accomplishments that most of career drive racing could only hope to achieve in a life time. Jones began his racing career at age seven in quarter midgets and moved to stock cars at age of 13.

For his sophomore season in the Cup Series, Jones returns to Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) taking over the driver’s seat of the No. 20 DEWALT Toyota Camry. Joining Jones at JGR will be crew chief Chris Gayle who called the shots for Jones during his rookie season.
