Associated Builders and Contractors announced that DEWALT, a Stanley Black & Decker brand and U.S. manufacturer of professional products, will power the National Student Chapter Network as the program sponsor for the next three years.

“More than 45 colleges and universities across the country belong to ABC’s National Student Chapter Network, which is filled with our future construction leaders, and it is a privilege to work alongside DEWALT to provide world-class skills and innovative products,” said Greg Sizemore, ABC vice president of health, safety, environment and workforce development. “America’s economic engine is fueled by a workforce equipped with durable and transferable skill sets and products. Relationships like these provide the right tools to our future workforce to cultivate long-lasting and rewarding career opportunities.”

“As part of its mission to lead the charge for the jobsite of the future, DEWALT supports ABC’s workforce development initiatives,” said Maria Ford, president of Stanley Black & Decker’s Global Tools and Storage’s Commercial & Industrial division. “We support these students as they gain the education and skills necessary to secure jobs within the construction industry, revitalize communities and build a better world. The skills gap is an immense challenge facing the global workforce today, and Stanley Black & Decker, with brands like DEWALT, is creating new career development pathways both within the company as well as in the communities where we operate, helping to inspire new generations to pursue the careers of the future.”

DEWALT, which utilizes breakthrough innovation to focus on safe, productive and profitable solutions for the enterprise contractor, also serves as the presenting sponsor of ABC’s annual Construction Management Competition, the premier competition for the National Student Chapter Network. ABC’s 2021 Construction Management Competition is currently underway virtually; the winners will be announced next week.
