Students Are Encouraged to Solve Real-World Problems for a Chance to Win Up

As part of our partnership with Discovery Education, the global leader in digital curriculum resources, Stanley Black & Decker invites aspiring makers in the U.S. to participate in the second annual Making for Good Challenge. Individuals or teams of two-four students are encouraged to submit their best ideas for product designs that achieve a social good.

 

About the Challenge:

Working individually or in teams of 2-4, students in grades 9-12 are challenged to develop a unique product design solution that either meets an underserved societal or environmental need. To enter their idea, participants must submit a 60-90 second video outlining their solution and how it meets the need they are acting to solve.

 

Challenge Deadline: 1/28/2021
Grades: 9-12

 

Prizing includes:

  • Grand Prize: $15,000
  • Second Place: $10,000 and a prize pack
  • Third Place: $5,000 and a prize pack

The Making for Good Challenge builds upon the Innovation Generation program – igniting, engaging, and empowering students to become makers through no-cost dynamic digital resources. Through real-world explorations of STEAM, Innovation Generation cultivates students’ collaboration, problem solving, and creative thinking.
