Director of Engineering, Motors Development & Electrical Systems
Jarrett has a degree in mechanical engineering, but said his job also includes developing electrical designs.
"I gained this experience by showing interest, early in my career, in subjects and tasks outside of a traditional mechanical engineering job," he said. "Stanley Black & Decker provides opportunities to try new things and develop your career in the way that you want. I don’t know of many other companies that have as much opportunity."
As a leader on the Motors Development and Electrical Systems team, Jarrett said he takes on new and varied projects each day.
"I have incredible opportunities to work on all types of power tools," he said. "Literally every day there is a new prototype to try or a new product milestone to celebrate. Within the power tools engineering team, there are many people who have expertise in different aspects of power tool development. Being open and willing to work with this diverse talent pool has helped me to develop lasting relationships and expand my understanding of how I contribute to the success of the project."
And what does he like best?
"The people I work with – they are smart, caring and driven to make the best power tools in the world," he said. "And the products that we work on are meaningful. They make a difference in the daily lives of our customers, and I am filled with a sense of pride that I am able to contribute to that."
