Leadership Program - Mike Ginop

Mike Ginop
Director of Cost Analytics, Global Supply Management
Michigan, U.S.A.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering and robotics and thought he’d spend his career working on improving manufacturing capabilities and automation.

But the Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) changed that.

“Coming out of college, I didn’t know being part of Global Supply Management would be the direction I would take, but now years later I’m so proud to be part of this team,” Mike said. “Without the Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program, I would never have known how much I would enjoy it and the doors that would be opened because of it.”

During his two-year SLP rotations, Mike worked in multiple locations in the United States, as a lean engineer and manufacturing engineer before experiencing the Global Supply Management team in New Britain, Connecticut.

“The most valuable aspect of the SLP program at Stanley Black & Decker is the opportunities given to work in functions or areas that may not even be on your radar coming out of college,” he said. “ There are so many diverse rotations available that make the SLP program exciting and challenging.”

Mike’s advice to future SLPs?

“You don’t have to have everything figured out just yet,” he said. “This program allows you to continue to grow and develop and figure out what may not be for you. Take the chance when given and if you do fail, make sure you fail trying to do something better than it was before.”
