U.S. Chamber Honors Jackson Plant for Community Revitalization

Our lighthouse facility in Jackson, Tennessee – home to DEWALT, Bostitch and Porter Cable power tools – was recently chosen for the Revitalize America Honor.

This award, from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, recognizes businesses that are helping build better communities by investing in employment opportunities.

Our Jackson facility has worked hard to bring our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of Empowering Makers to life. They have increased their focus on reskilling the local workforce. They’ve worked to combine the talents of their millennial digital and engineering experts with the experienced manufacturing team to create a “Lighthouse” facility which serves as a model for new advanced manufacturing techniques and systems.

Stanley Black & Decker’s community commitment is also evident in Jackson through partnerships with Habitat for Humanity and the Madison County School District, and a scholarship program at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology designed to strengthen the local workforce.

“It is exciting to see our company invest in our workforce and community,” said Don Tucker, the plant manager in Jackson. “Our company gets a win with a multi-generational workforce capable of implementing growth and change, while the community benefits from job growth and support.”
