In 2016, the 18-year-old Jess Lockwood took the PBR by storm. After three event wins on the Touring Pro Division, he moved up to the elite PBR Built Ford Tough Series. After competing in just three BFTS events, Lockwood won the STANLEY Performance In Action Invitational, his first PBR BFTS event title. And while competing in only 16 BFTS events in 2016, the PBR young gun wrapped up his rookie season with 1 Win, 7 Top-5, and 13 Top-10 finishes, earning the title of 2016 PBR Rookie of the Year.

Life's Moments & Inspirations

My greatest achievement has been... Winning 2016 PBR Rookie of the Year just because it's a year long accomplishment and I was in a tough group of young guns.
My biggest inspiration is... My family, they support me in everything I do and raised me up right helping me every step along the way.
My next ambition is... Ranching, we live on a 12,000 acre ranch in southeastern Montana and own 450 head of black angus cattle, and I own 15 of my own as of now.
My people describe me as... Outgoing, I love meeting and getting to know new people and have fun.
How I relax is... Just by being at home, even if I'm home and working it's still relaxing to me because I'm with my family.
My advice to the young athletes starting out is... Get in with the right people who are going to help you and build you up.
The Stanley Black & Decker purpose is "for those who make the world" what is your purpose? To be the best I can in whatever I do whether it's bullriding or ranching and getting work done.
