For those who make the world more sustainable

We embed responsible design principles and practices into our products, encompassing everything from safety and ergonomics, to reducing the environmental impacts of material sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, customer use and end of life.

We strive to improve the sustainability of our products and to design new products with our ECOSMART operating philosophy in mind.

Dura-Glide GreenStar, an energy efficient sliding automatic door from STANLEY Access Technologies, meets stringent air infiltration testing standards to help businesses save on average over $500 per door/per year in heating and cooling costs. Dura-Glide GreenStar is designated as an approved ECOSMART product by our Corporate ECOSMART Steering Committee.

DEWALT's Perform and Protect line of power tools provides a high level of dust containment, control and/or low vibration, without sacrificing performance. Grinding, cutting and drilling shrouds reduce the amount of air-borne dust, increasing visibility, protecting lungs and cutting down on tool maintenance. Our E-Clutch® system and Kickback Brake™ feature protect both the user and the tool in bind up situations. Our SHOCKS-Active Vibration Control® System reduces vibration felt at the handles when compared to hammers without this feature.

BLACK+DECKER steam mops kill up to 99.9% of germs with just water when used with the micro-fiber pad, allowing users to avoid toxic chemicals found in traditional commercial cleaning products.

Fueled by electric power, DEWALT outdoor equipment delivers the power you need without harmful gas emissions at the worksite.

STANLEY Engineered Fastening collaborates with its automaker customers to develop joining technologies and systems designed for lighter, thinner materials. Such lightweighting innovations create greener cars, as does our use of recycled plastic in our piping clips to deliver further ECOSMART advantages.

ECOSMART and our Brands

ECOSMART emphasizes our company-wide sustainability efforts both internally and to the public. Our product development processes now focus on early identification of product sustainability requirements and verification at final design that a sustainability-enhancing improvement was realized. These process enhancements will help ensure that every product is considered through an ECOSMART lens.
